How These Rankings Are Built
There is no estimating here. We index every graded Sega Genesis game that has sold through Heritage Auctions and Goldin, group sales by grader and grade, and rank by the highest representative realized price. PriceCharting’s per-grade video-game figures are derived multipliers and are not used for these rankings — only the auction houses’ actual prices realized are.

John Madden Football — a WATA 9.2 A+ copy realized $480,000 at Heritage Auctions. Heritage and Goldin have logged 26 sold sales for it.
How are these Sega Genesis game values determined?
Every figure is a real sold result from the graded video-game archives of Heritage Auctions and Goldin, grouped by grader and grade, then ranked by the highest representative realized price (median where three or more comparable sales exist). These are prices realized, buyer’s premium included, not estimates or catalog multipliers.
Which Sega Genesis games rank just behind John Madden Football?

Does PSA grade Sega Genesis games?
Yes. PSA acquired WATA in July 2021 and completed the rebrand to PSA Video Games on October 20, 2025, so new submissions are graded by PSA. The grades on older sales above reflect WATA, CGC, or VGA — the grader at the time of each sale.
